Why 6 am Should NOT exist

Tue Jun 9, 2009, 11:30 AM
  • Mood: Stupefied
  • Listening to: Don't stop believing, Journey
5:45.. Alarm clock begins it's horrid screeching.
Now.. I generally consider myself a morning person. I get up at 6:30 every day to go to work. I actually enjoy waking up early, because I usually get to watch the sun rise. Today was different from any other day... My boss asked me to come in for 7:30 today, when I normally start at 8. It is a 45 minute drive from my house. I don't mind doing her favors, so I said yes. Well today I didn't get to watch the sun rise. Today the sun didn't rise. It stayed hidden behind massive ugly black clouds. Those clouds even had the nerve to drop water onto me.

In my sleepy stupor, I began the endless journey to Port Perry. I work on a horse farm.
Along the way, I killed a chipmunk and almost hit three cats. It's not MY fault they all had suicidal tendencies. I then proceeded to follow a very slow moving vehicle for a long ways before the hill-ish back roads set me free.

Did I mention that I had to feed my own horses? They live outside and are imprisoned by white electrical fencing. Poor beasts. I always just duck under the second wire and I'm able to not touch the wire at all in the process. Well since I woke up before 6 am today, on my way out of the field to trek back to my blackmobile, the fence jumped up and attacked me. It grabbed my unsuspecting leg and zapped me. Ouch.

So I finally get to work and had to hear "AMANDA!!" about a million times from my boss because she was helpless and needed a hero. Usually I am the only one at the barn all day and have no one to talk to apart from myself and the rats. Yes, the giant, buck-toothed demons that dwell in the dark. But today my boss decided to schedule many people to come to the barn for various reasons, and they all overlapped each other. I am only ONE PERSON!! But thanks to 6 am I had to be THREE people today.

The rest of the day went by uneventfully for the most part.

The drive home was also full of suicidal creatures, including a beautiful golden finch. WHY he had to swoop down in the front of my car when I'm zooming past him faster than any bird can fly is beyond me.
6 am.

So apart from the rain, the slaughter of an innocent suicidal chipmunk, the near-death of several four-legged furballs, my annoying boss and the slow old people driving, my day went pretty well.

Tomorrow... I think I'll stick with my usual 6:30. Apparently I can't handle change. It just might be the death of me.

OMG I am so in that mode right now! Camera always on me, but not seeing anything. I guess that's why I have been doing so many enhancements for people. I need my EYE back!
